Usually, you do not need to update custom policies when you upgrade to a new version of Kion. However, if there is a release in which we update the version of Cloud Custodian we use, some custom policies may require updates.
Known Issues
On March 8, 2023 we upgraded the version of Cloud Custodian we use to v0.9.23 to resolve a security vulnerability. After this date, you may need to update your custom policies if they were cloned from policies we provided. You do not need to update policies included in our compliance jumpstarts as long as they haven't been modified.
The simplest way to check if a policy needs to be updated is to reimport the policy it was originally cloned from and compare the base policies.
