You can generate system-wide reports by navigating to Reporting in the left navigation menu.
You can also view reports on individual resources by selecting the appropriate tabs on their details page. For example, to view the spend report for an OU, navigate to OUs > All OUs, click on the OU, select Financials, and click Spend Reports.
The financial summary provides an in-depth look into spend for all OUs and projects under the selected OU. The row-level data is exported as a zipped collection of spreadsheet files that are easy to import into other tracking systems as needed. The report can include data on the monthly spend, payments, spend by service, and spend plan for the selected resource.
Spend reports help you easily visualize your spending by month in a variety of ways.
You can select to generate a report including a single OU, multiple OUs, or all OUs.
Click Add Filter to use tags and labels to filter your report. You can specify if you want the results to include or exclude each tag/label, the tag/label key, and the tag/label values. You can add as many filters as you want and use a combination of tags and labels in the same report. Label filters apply to any child resources included in the report as well.
At the top of the spend report, there is a color-coded graph with spending for your selected resources. You can click on the individual bars in the chart to drill down on spending for a month.
Some types of spend reports allow you to drill down even further into your data. On these reports, within the Spending by Service or Spending by Tag table, you can click on each amount to further drill down on spending for each month for that service or tag. Within that month's view, you'll find a Usage Summary tab and a Resource Data tab, which provide more granular breakdowns of spending within a service or tag's monthly spend.
The Usage Summary details the usage type, amount spent, and the number of resources used.
The Resource Data tab details the accounts that used the resource, the resource ID, usage type, and the cost. It also allows direct access to your cloud provider (CP) via the Account Access button for those who have permission to access the listed accounts.
The spend by resource report exports your results to a .csv or .xlsx file, instead of displaying them in Kion. When you select spend by resource and click Export, a zip containing the file type you selected is downloaded. If you choose .csv, there will be a file for each month in your selected date range. If you choose .xlsx, there will be one file with a tab for each month. AWS and Azure are separated into their own reports. We do not currently support spend by resource for Google Cloud projects.
Kion supports reporting on tags within AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. If you're using more than one of these cloud providers, you can take advantage of Kion's unified tagging. Unified tagging means that when you use the same tags across providers, Kion will report on them as if they came from one unified source, so your reports give you totals for the tag instead of fragmented results. Note that you can report on tags starting with the date of their creation, and tags are case sensitive (the case must match across cloud providers).
Child Spend Summary
The child spend summary includes a breakdown of spending by accounts in the selected OU by its direct child projects, as well as its direct child OUs. The report is exported as a spreadsheet file.
Cloud Access Report
The cloud access report includes the user names, user groups, OU hierarchy, project names, and cloud access roles associated with an OU. The report is exported as a spreadsheet file.
The financial drilldown includes data on current spend, planned spend, aggregate spend, aggregate planned, allocations, and OU hierarchy for all OUs and projects under a selected OU. The report is exported as a spreadsheet file.
Accounts Under OU
The accounts under OU report includes data on all accounts on projects descendant from a selected OU. The report is exported as a spreadsheet file.
