Requesting Cloud Rule Exemptions

If you manage an OU or project, you can request an exemption to a cloud rule that has been applied to your OU/project via inheritance. Once approved, the cloud rule will no longer be applied, and any changes that the cloud rule made to your OU/project will be reversed.

Cloud rules applied by enforcements cannot be exempted.

Requesting Exemption from an Inherited Cloud Rule

1. Navigate to the OU or project's details page by clicking on its name on the All OUs or All Projects page.
2. Click the Cloud Management tab, then the Cloud Rules sub-tab. You will see a list of cloud rules applied to the resource.
3. Click the caret to the left of a cloud rule to expand its info.
4. Click the ellipsis menu and select Request Exemption. If this is not an option, the cloud rule may be applied locally.
5. (Optional) Enter a comment for the request.
6. Click OK.

Your request is sent to those with the manage permission on the OU where the cloud rule is applied. If the same cloud rule is applied to multiple parent OUs, you must request an exemption from each one.

Checking a Cloud Rule Exemption Request

1. Click Requests > My Initiated Requests. 
2. In the Request Typedropdown menu, select Cloud Rule. 

Canceling a Cloud Rule Exemption Request

1. Click Requests > My Initiated Requests. 
2. In the Request Type dropdown menu, select Cloud Rule. 
3. Click the ellipsis menu button next to the status and select Cancel Request .
4. Enter a reason for the cancellation.
5. Click Cancel Request to confirm.
