What is a Google Cloud Service Account?

A Google Cloud service account is a special type of account intended to represent a non-human user that needs to authenticate and be authorized to access data in Google APIs. If you're using Google Cloud, you'll need to add the service account before you can start adding other Google Cloud projects/accounts. AWS and Azure do not use service accounts.

To learn how to add a service account, see our Google Cloud Setup Guide. For additional information about service accounts, see Google's service account documentation.
